About

I grew up in the water.

An engineer driven by mathematics and aquaculture.

I raced through swimming pools. I crossed open lakes. I windsurfed through storms. I descended beneath the waves and met sharks in their world. Only to find a reflection of who I am and what I love.

The ocean taught me its language: mathematics. Fish swimming in schools and populations moving in patterns. Fluid dynamics to make sharks swim fast. The ocean holds deep secrets in mathematics, waiting for humanity to bring them into light.

Stay hungry. Stay foolish. Stay audacious.

Growing up, mathematics was how I learnt about the world…

“Mathematics is all about becoming a creative thinker and NOT a calculator.”

Hunting for Medals

I love the thrill of turning seemingly impossible math problems into puzzles I could unravel.

A multi-national champion and representative of Vietnam on the international stage in mathematical contests.

…while swimming was how I learnt about MYSELF.

2 years

from ZERO to HERO

Nothing is impossible. At the age of six, it took me two years to learn how to swim, last of my swimming club to do so. Now, as a bronze medalist and national swimmer, I trust that hard work and resilience can make the flower of success bloom profusely.

16km

defying LIMITS

(me growling while paddling :)) Sharing amazing open-water swimming sessions with my swimming club. At 13, I became the first student to traverse a 16km-lake in Northern Vietnam. Learned canoeing in the process, too!

Age 15

blessed by the SUN, forged by the STORM

Moving to Singapore at 15 with the same thirst for the ocean. Trying new sports like windsurfing in new and extreme environments. Although my name ‘Minh’ means ‘morning sun’, my techniques are constantly forged by roaring winds and unforgiving waves.

the call of the DEEP

Diving with majestic sharks and reef manta rays. Learned more about underwater habitats and shark conservation. We became part of each other’s world.
